We are a friendly group of people who share a love of gardens and gardening. Our experience varies but none of us are experts. The aim is to learn more about plants, gardens and gardening by sharing knowledge and exchanging ideas.

In Spring, and often Autumn, we share plants, seeds and cuttings from our gardens and there’s usually a visit to a Garden Centre. Occasionally someone might give a short talk on some aspect of gardening, but mostly we will chat together about our gardening loves and hates.

In the warmer summer months we arrange visits to private gardens in the area. Generally these are involved in the National Garden Scheme. The visits are always very interesting, varied and pleasurable and usually end up with tea and cakes.

At our February meeting we chatted about the state of our gardens and what we would like to grow this year. Having experienced weeks of almost continuous rain it had not been possible to do much gardening. However, with temperature being above average and little or no frost spring bulbs have been flowering early and there were lots of signs of trees budding and perennials peeking through.
